The house is situated in the woods in an area where the least amount of trees needed to be removed. Vegetation waste materials and woody debris from the excavation were deposited in the creek in a manner consistent with Fish and Wildlife standards for stream habitat enhancement. Existing topsoils were stockpiled for future use.
Trees that were cut from the site were used whenever possible for deck lumber. Many tree trunks were peeled and used for structural and decorative purposes.
